i believe this woman should be everyone's role model. her husband, too. my brother and i helped out at the surprise party she threw for her husband's 60th birthday. she gave us $150 for doing basically nothing, which i feel terrible about. but that's just the kind of a person she is. this woman is hilarious. she's my dad's partner, and you could not know her at all and walk away feeling like you had the best conversation of your life. she's outgoing, and kind, and just pleasant to everyone. everyone helping with the party could not stop saying how good of a person she is. and she's someone i really look up to. she cares for a lot of people, and each one cares just as strongly for her. i suppose it's a personal goal to become as kind and patient as she is. definitely someone i look up to.
friends with benefits is not the way to go. sure the benefits are great, but someone always ends up getting hurt, and this time i don't think it's going to be me. people are just way too complicated. i'm kind of tempted to have an arranged marriage. that would make things a little easier further down the road. |

it's hard, because too often i go into emotional overload. and then i look back on my reaction and think about the situation, and 9 times out of 10 the reaction isn't reasonable. learning to read situations from different perspectives is hard. is it hypocritical to have a firm stance on something, take time to consider it, and then reconsider because you found that the consequences are much greater if something is left unsaid due to pride? is it an example of poor resolve and character to go back on your feelings? the good times outweigh the bad, and a friend is too valuable to lose over a few words of anger. it's impossible to please everyone at all times, and it is impossible to impress everyone with your actions. but in some way, everything we do is for our own benefit. i suppose that is just the nature of life.
a friend of mine has a friend in critical condition after a motorcycle accident. how scary is it that as we get older, friends are more prone to being lost. we give ourselves tremendous responsibility, and there are dire consequences. i drove 14 other girls in a school van 2 hours to maryland yesterday. i didn't really think about it at the time, but what if there had been an accident? it is just scary to think about. you see musicals like 'rent', and they preach about living in the moment. "no day but today". carpe diem. live in the moment, but don't forget everything else. live for yourself, but live for others too. a life worth remembering is remembered by the people you share it with. as i'm writing these things, i'm thinking that i would like to forget about it. i'm writing down these thoughts because they're what i'm thinking, and i'm getting it out of my system. i don't want one thought or way of thinking to control my life. i'm allowed to make mistakes, it's okay to be disliked. all i want is to enjoy life, enjoy people. there is no pattern, but i believe in fate, and i believe that i will find what i'm looking for eventually.
this is way too deep for a sunday night when homework is due. i guess i haven't killed all of my brain cells yet! :) |

scored again this past saturday, we won 7-0. things are weird with rugby. people don't come out, they don't have the same passion for the sport like some of us do. and it's frustrating. we need people. we need players. we need players who want to play. :(
drama is ridiculous. this past weekend was crazy. a friend basically makes me feel like a whore and an ass. waiting for an apology that will probably never come. if you "tell it like it is" to a friend, do you feel no remorse for making them feel terrible about themselves? contradicts the purpose of a friend, i think. but what do i know.
what is good, is really good. what is bad, is really bad. not finding too much of a happy medium right now, but this too shall pass. guys really do have things a lot easier. an ugly guy can get a gorgeous girlfriend with a great personality. an ugly girl gets shafted regardless. guys pretty much have the upper hand with relationship things. if they don't call, it is the girl feeling dejected. however if the girl makes a move or comes on quickly, she is desperate or a whore. damn double standards. waiting sucks.
i feel like i've lost one of my best friends. we used to joke and openly call each other "bff". it was funny. and we were close, talking every day and hanging out all the time. previously mentioned friend interferes here. introduce her to bff and then they hang out...whatever i'm not generally the jealous type. it turns into much more frequent hangings out and leaving me out (she lives across the hall). then apparently she drunkenly gripes to another of my friends (who i also introduced her to) and says that i'm totally unreasonable and all sorts of not nice things. this isn't skewing the situation either. i don't want to belittle her, but it just really hurts that after all we've been through and stuff that i am treated this way. it's not fair. i hate girls. hopefully this situation resolves itself. i miss hanging out with bff, and i hate that everything is so petty and immature. i thought we were college students, but apparently i got lost in the middle school realm.
cannot complain too much though, there are some really great things going on right now. just some life lessons being taught right now, i guess. |

i scored in yesterday's rugby match :) teammate had a great run and i was following her for support, she got tackled, ball went bouncing, i grabbed it on the second bounce and took it in 30 yards for the try. unfortunately my teammate's knee is messed up now. but it was a pretty sweet play.
the sixers are not doing well. what the heck happened.

i should be doing the mounds of work i have to do by the end of today, but i figure i'll be working for hours straight anyways. so how about this...
this weekend i'm going to philly and getting put up in a hotel because i made the epru (eastern pennsylvania rugby union) all-star team. almost can't go because of all this work but i'll find a way to get it done. but that's exciting.
i can't concentrate on schoolwork like i once did. procrastination is going to be the death of me, so i really need to kick that habit.
i'm going to see fitty cent's movie on monday...with a boy :)
break next tuesday! i'll be working a lot for the 3 days that i can...around 26 hours. ugh. oh well, christmas is getting dangerously close, so i need to get some shopping done. the money will be appreciated.
overall, i can't complain. |

tuesday was quite possibly one of the best days. i rode a motorcycle for the first time and seriously, it was one of the greatest experiences. i thought i'd be clinging on for dear life, but after we pulled out of the driveway i was completely fine. we rode through some back roads, past tons of farms (and horses!) and things were just so beautiful. you ride in a car, and it's a completely different view. you're sitting back, encased in a big hunk of metal, and maybe rolling down the window helps, but it's nothing compared to being on the back of a motorcycle. i loved it. we went hiking, and when we walked back up to the motorcycle, there were some horses close to the fence, so i ran over and managed to coax them over. i miss riding them so much. we saw a bunch of deer, and it was just cool to be hanging out with all these animals and not worry about anything. i was just seriously happy and that was such a great thing. my motorcycle friend will be leaving this week for an amazing job opportunity in the british virgin islands. it's for a year, until nov. 1 next year. maybe spring break there is in order...
speaking of break, my time at home was decent. it was nice to be in a house, with some of my family. my parents were in california, and i had definitely planned on getting wasted at least once, but i didn't. and i don't mind at all. i started missing my older brother, and i was wishing i was closer to my sister. my little brother and i are crazy together--anyone can tell you that if they've ever met us. my mom and i had a semi-sex talk, which was funny. yesterday morning, my little brother woke me up by playing his trombone--well, not so much playing as loud fart-like sounds) and blasting his school house rock cd. it was awesome haha. he then told me one song was really awesome and changed the cd to conjunction junction. wonderful!
i don't know, i'm sure i could really find things in my life to complain about, but some things just make all the bad things worth it. |

this weather is absolutely fantastic! :)
i have tomorrow and wednesday off...wooooooohooooooo! except i have to observe at a special education school tomorrow morning. luckily it won't take long, but it'd be nice to sleep in...as i always do hahaha.
i have to find a chiropractor because my shoulder's been bothering me. i came out of the game on saturday...first time since my very first game when i got a concussion. i hate coming out...but my coach made me because he doesn't want to have me injured next fall season. ahhhh well. hopefully it'll heal soon.
time to go do something fun and mischievious. later gators >o-j--j--- |

played rugby in the mud yesterday. that was definitely an experience. feeling the hits taken and given yesterday. finally hung out with the guys' rugby team...good stuff. met lots of fun people. however, i am scarred from an event that occurred while i should have been sleeping. it really is disturbing. inquire within for details... |
